A specific allied health tool to find literature

This resource is designed for allied health professionals working in palliative care who require easy and rapid access to the latest peer-reviewed information. All information comes from PubMed, the large biomedical database made available by the United States National Library of Medicine.

Some tips for getting started:

  • Simply click on the topics you want to include in your search.
  • Be aware that as you add more topics to your search, each additional topic will be combined with the search string using AND. As each new term is added, the amount of papers retrieved will be smaller, but more specific to your query.
  • You may also add your own search terms to the search by using the ‘enter keywords' box at the end of the page. Tip: If your search term has two words use quotation marks to keep them together, e.g. ‘family meetings'.
  • It is possible some search combinations will produce zero or few results. This can mean that not much has been published on the topic or that the new search term entered isn't recognised. Try running the search again using similar terms that you are aware of but may not use in your community e.g. you might say 'family meetings' but another term would be 'case conferences'.
