The artwork throughout this Hub was designed by Leigh Harris of Ingeous Studios.

Leigh is a graphic designer and new media specialist, and founded Ingeous Studios in Cairns in 2003. Leigh has traditional connections to the Kanolu people of Central Queensland and Gungarri people of South East Queensland, and has been active in the creative digital space for over 20 years.

Leigh's design is a contemporary designed artwork which is representative of one's journey of life, which in particular related to palliative care of our loved one's.

Below he describes the symbolic meaning behind each element of his design.

CareSearch artwork 

The artwork for the CareSearch website and collateral is a contemporary designed artwork which is representative one’s journey of life, which in particular related to palliative care of our loved one’s.
  1. The main background of the centre of the design represents the ‘River of Life’ which as individuals are all travelling. Throughout this ‘River of Life’ we live, learn and love sharing stories of us, our people and our culture.
  2. Throughout the ‘River of Life’ in palliative care are the important roles that our communities and family play in the care of our loved one’s on their, passing through to the centre-piece of the artwork. A healing place, a story place for that individual.
  3. The main symbol of the artwork is represents the ‘Healing/Story Place’ for our loved one with in palliative care and is symbolic of a lagoon/billabong. Through its representation it displays the care given to our loved one by family and specialist carers. Each carer and family member provide the love and care for the individual in palliative care. At this time we learn and share with our loved one sharing the stories of that individual during this time of sadness.
  4. Within the centre of the lagoon/billabong is a figure/icon which represents each individuals' final journey through the‘River of Life’ which is symbolic of our loved one. The background of this element depicts spirit figures which will take our loved one’s onto their Eternal Dreaming.
