This e-Learning package has been specifically developed for allied health professionals. The package consists of an introductory course and 8 profession-specific electives which detail the role of particular allied health professionals throughout the phases of palliative care:

  • Music therapy
  • Nutrition & dietetics
  • Occupational therapy
  • Pharmacy
  • Physiotherapy
  • Psychology
  • Speech pathology
  • Social work.

Allied health professionals who provide services to or have an interest in supporting children with a life-limiting condition and their families

Time to complete

Introduction module: approximately 90 minutes (3 sections, 30 minutes each)

Each elective: 2 hours

Complete the required introductory course and evaluation before progression to your profession-specific course and evaluation.

You are then welcome to dive into any of the other profession-specific courses to learn more about the role of your interprofessional colleagues across the continuum of paediatric palliative care.

This package was developed by Gold Coast Health & Children's Health Queensland primarily for the Queensland context, though much of the content will still be relevant to other jurisdictions across Australia.
