A grant is generally a transfer of funds from government, a business or a foundation to another organisation or individual to carry out research or a project. The purposes that will be supported by particular grant programmes vary. Most grants will require a deed or contract to regulate the exchange of funds and outline the grant deliverables.
Details on various grants available to Australian researchers have been included on each grants page (see menu).
The Department of Health and Ageing maintains a Listing of Tenders and Grants identifying current business opportunities.
Further information on grants in health and safety can be found at GrantsLINK, the Government community grants site.
