When someone is being cared for at home there can be a lot of people involved. This includes community nurses, GPs, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and at times, the palliative care team. There could be family and friends visiting. Sometimes paid care workers will also come in to provide support.
Having so many people around can be reassuring, but sometimes it can feel intrusive. Remembering that they are visitors and that they are there to help may make it easier.
There will be disruption to the usual household routine, and it may mean that the family carer has to coordinate everything.
It is important whenever possible to make sure that some private, quiet time is set aside for the family.
