CareSearch provides producers of research and new knowledge in palliative care a way to promote their work while it is being produced and before formal publication. This can create awareness among potential users. It also provides opportunities for collaboration or alignment of work.
Australian researchers, clinicians and academics in palliative care can also add to the literature and evidence base by making available articles, literature and reports that are not indexed on any major bibliographic databases (Medline, CINAHL, PsycINFO or Embase). These can be included in the CareSearch Grey Literature database enabling a more comprehensive coverage of the palliative care literature. Researchers, academic and clinicians can also contribute to the project by evaluating conference abstracts.
Australian researchers in palliative care are invited to submit details of their studyies for inclusion in the Research Studies Register. The register provides a means of sharing information, developing linkages, preventing duplication and promoting awareness of current research activities.
We welcome information on conferences, short courses and training opportunities that would be of interest to those in the palliative care community, email caresearch@flinders.edu.au.
The CareSearch Research Data Management System supports multisite research and allows data entry from anywhere in the world and research management from a single location. It is available for use by Australian researchers.
