ComPAC Project

The ComPAC project goal is developing evidence based guidelines for a palliative approach for older people in the community setting. They will support and enhance the care provided by medical practitioners, nurses, allied health professionals, care workers, volunteers and Indigenous health workers in the community setting throughout Australia.  The guidelines will be developed in consultation with consumers and key stakeholders.

This forum provides community members with the chance to comment on the project and guidelines as they are written. We welcome your participation in this project.

Consumer Guidelines

(This is a copy of post dated 22.8.2007)

The development of a "plain English" version of the Guidelines for a Palliative Approach for Aged Care in the Community Setting has now been approved and funded by the Department of Health and Ageing. From the national public consultation it was clear that this second document would be appropriate for quick and practical use by health care professionals, care workers,  and their clients and families. Would anyone like to comment on the development of consumer guidelines?

Kind Regards

Kristi
