CareSearch palliative care knowledge network (or more simply CareSearch) is a suite of palliative care information and resources available at  www.caresearch.com.au. The website is designed to support health professionals involved in providing palliative care and those needing palliative care and their families and friends.

The project that created CareSearch palliative care knowledge network began in July 2006. This project also assumed responsibility for the original CareSearch website (available online from September 2004 to May 2008) while being required to create and implement a Knowledge Network in palliative care. Initial work focused on introducing patient and carer information and general practitioner (GP) resources. This material was released in March 2007 into the original CareSearch website.

At the same time planning and development for the new network was underway. Importantly it was decided to retain the CareSearch name and web address. The new resources with its expanded content and functions would still be accessed though the CareSearch web address providing continuity for existing users and building on the reputation of the original website.
