Accessibility: supporting users to use information

By implementing accessibility practices, we will be improving the usability of the site for all users. This accessibility statement covers the CareSearch website. It does not cover other websites we link to. They will have their own accessibility statements.

This website uses a system that enables users to change contrast levels and font size. You can navigate the website using your keyboard rather than a mouse and you can move through the page by using the tab key.

We include alt text in markup/code to describe images. We provide transcripts for our podcasts and in-sync captioning for our videos.

There is some content on the website which may not be fully accessible. Most of our PDFs have been designed to be accessible, however, some older PDFs may not yet have been updated. Some content is embedded in our website, such as maps and videos. You may not be able to scale these on your screen.

If you have problems accessing information on this website, or would like any of our work in a different format, please email us: caresearch@flinders.edu.au

Issues with links

We scan the site monthly for broken links and try to fix them as soon as they are identified. There may be broken links in older PDFs, blogs and newsletters. We do not necessarily update this content.

Readability

For community pages, we've tried to make website text as simple as possible to understand. We aim for a reading age of a 12 year old. Where we use technical terms, we will explain what it means.

Reporting accessibility problems

We want to improve accessibility of the website. If you identify a problem or have a concern, please email caresearch@flinders.edu.au to let us know.
