About Palliative Care

Palliative care can help you if you have an illness that cannot be cured. It can also be helpful if you are having active treatment. It is about supporting you to live well while you manage your illness. It is not just about cancer.

Many people who work in health can help provide palliative care. They will work with you and your carer, where you are living or where you receive treatment. This may be at home, or in a residential aged care facility. It can also be in a hospital or hospice.
