Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (or LGBTI): A collective term to refer to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or intersex people and to the community, or subculture, that surrounds them. Transgender relates to a person whose self-identity does not conform unambiguously to conventional notions of male or female gender. Intersex refers to the condition of being intermediate between male and female.
