Older people

Rural and remote areas
- Living rural and remote may cause extra financial strain, particularly as you may need to travel for treatment and take long periods away from your property. Services Australia provide information about payments and services for rural and remote Australians.
Veterans
- The cost of care can cause anxiety and stress when paying for palliative care services. The Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) provide many services for free.
- When you receive services funded by DVA, you may be eligible for a supplement to cover any additional care costs associated with your palliative care diagnosis. Visit DVA veteran supplement to find out more.
