Jan Simmons, Eastern Palliative Care
Spending time and just being with other people following a bereavement requires compassion, sensitivity and empathy. After comprehensive training with Eastern Palliative Care, Jan volunteered as a Biographer, and Bereavement Companion, within a multi-disciplinary palliative care team. As a companion Jan is in the moment with carers; ready to listen, interact and respond to their needs, undertaking a journey with carers as they grieve.
The Emu in the Room
