Most people realise that it is not easy to be completely clear and rational when they are upset or distressed. Decision making at the end of life can present many difficult choices and many challenges. When someone is dying, feelings and emotions can affect the important decisions that need to be made. In addition, some medications can make thought processes cloudy.
When someone is ill, there is so much more to take in and think about. One way to approach decision making is to take time to talk things through and consider what is important and what would be the right thing to do. It is important not to make any rushed decisions at this time. Think and plan things through. Discuss any issues with family and friends or with a health professional.
