How CareSearch is organised
 

There are many different types of information in the CareSearch website. Knowing what you are looking for and how CareSearch is organised will help you find what you need more quickly. CareSearch is a collection of information pages on palliative care topics, databases of various literature resources, and sets of functions and tools. While content pages are available to all visitors, some pages or materials may be more useful to some than others.

Structure of the website
There are nine main sections in the website. You can see these in the first menu bar on the left of the screen. They are:

  • What is Palliative Care?:
    This explains what palliative care is and how it is organised in Australia.
  • For Patients and Families: This section provides information and resources for patients, carers, families and friends.
  • Finding Services: Provides links to organisations, groups and services in Australia that provide palliative care or help those requiring palliative care.
  • Clinical Practice: This provides information on clinical issues of importance to palliative care. It is designed for clinicians and provides an overview of the state of evidence as described by systematic reviews.
  • Finding Evidence: This section helps find, appraise, apply and use evidence and information relating to palliative care. It also provides access to:
  • Education: Links to formal education providers in palliative care; conference details; links to web based learning modules on many different palliative care topics.
  • Research Resources: This section houses resources supporting research and researchers. It also provides access to:
  • Professional Groups: This provides information on palliative care specific to the many disciplines and professional groups involved in providing palliative care. It also houses:
  • About CareSearch: This section outlines the history of the CareSearch project and the processes that underpin the development of material that is found on CareSearch.
