Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender pages

New PubMed Topic Searches: GP and Prognosis
Two new PubMed Topic Searches have been written to celebrate World Hospice Day. The GP PubMed Topic Search offers the opportunity to find literature relevant to palliative care and general practitioners. The Prognosis PubMed Topic Search can keep health professionals up to date with studies and thinking around prognosis. One click will cause an automated search using the palliative care filter to be run in the PubMed bibliographic database.

Conference Permission Slip
Researchers and clinicians who made an oral presentation or had a poster at the Palliative Care conference can have their abstract and/or poster/oral, included in the CareSearch Grey Literature database. This means that others in the community who are searching for information will be able to find this work. To have your work included, complete the permission slip and return it to us at caresearch@flinders.edu.au. If you include an electronic version of your poster along with your permission slip we will be able to make the poster available through the website as well.

First Anniversary Newsletter
On May 26th 2008 CareSearch palliative care knowledge network was launched. The network is now 12 months old. We have developed a special newsletter to celebrate our first 12 months. The newsletter looks at who is using CareSearch, what resources you will find on the website and how these resources can help in practice.

CEBPARAC Project
The University of Queensland / Blue Care Research and Practice Development is carrying out a project looking at implementing a comprehensive evidence based palliative approach in Residential Aged Care (CEBPARAC). Details on this project and its activities will be housed in a new section within the CareSearch website called Other National Programs.

GP pages
GPs care for many patients with life-limiting illnesses such as advanced heart or respiratory disease, end-stage renal failure or liver disease, progressive dementia, cancer, or degenerative neurological conditions. New pages have been developed to support GPs when caring for patients in their practice for whom a cure is no longer possible. These pages look at the clinical and practical issues associated with providing palliative care as a GP in the community. Topics covered include:
